It’s no secret that stylists have been using alternatives to foil, or pairing their foils with other materials, creating a whole new range of hair coloring techniques. This month Colortrak is thrilled to launch Professional Haircoloring Meche, lightweight pre-cut sheets that comes in two lengths – 5×12 and 5×16 for those longer haired clients! The sheets are perfect for any free hand hair coloring technique, and come packaged in a stylish (and convenient!) dispenser box, making sectioning a breeze.
Colortrak Brand Ambassador and Educator, Stylist Ricardo Santiago walks you through a fun and dramatic transformation that he created using Colortrak’s Meche! Steps and formulas below.
JOICO INTENSITY COLORS:
Lime Green: Mint + Yellow (Equal Parts), Orange: 2 Parts Orange, 1 Part Peach, 1 Drop of Ruby Red, Yellow: Yellow, Smokey Pink: 2 Parts Rose, 1 Part Soft Pink, 2 Drops of Titanium, Coral Magenta: 1 Part Indigo, 1 Part Clear + 1 Part Pink, 1 Drop of Titanium, Smokey Blue:1 Part Violet, 1 Part Black Pearl + 1 Part Clear, Neon Purple: 1 Part Orchid, 1 Part Hot pink, Bright Blue/Tea: Mermaid Blue.
Lift the base to a level 10 and then remove the existing color to create a perfectly balanced canvas.
Starting from the root, apply the base color stretching it down about an inch. Work to apply to the root shade to the entirety of the base.
Divide the hair into four sections. Starting from where the hair parts to, take a diagonal back slice and apply color of choice, laying a Meche sheet between each slice to make sure colors don’t bleed into each other. Paint your color right onto Meche strips, if necessary, to ensure sufficient saturation.
Keep the same color pattern as the opposite side and separate each slice with Colortrak Meche. You can easily maintain your pattern consistency, by simply lifting the Meche to check your color pattern.
Once complete, allow hair to process for 30 minutes and rinse thoroughly, in cool to cold water.
